Donald Trump is still the leader of the Republican Party – that’s a fact.
Of course, some people aren’t too happy about that.
And former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich (R-GA) revealed this truth about former President Donald Trump that left the establishment fuming.
The Republican establishment has been predicting former President Donald Trump’s inevitable demise since he came down the escalator in Trump Tower in 2015 to announce his candidacy for President.
After a massive winning streak with his endorsements to start the 2022 primary season, President Trump hit a snag in Georgia after several Trump-endorsed candidates lost.
The corporate-controlled media and the political establishment immediately began speculating whether his popularity in the Republican Party was starting to fade.
But former Speaker Newt Gingrich appeared on Fox News recently to explain the success of President Trump’s endorsements.
“Remember that it’s very, very likely now that Mehmet Oz is going to win in Pennsylvania and he was endorsed by Trump,” Gingrich said. “So the president overall, President Trump overall has a very good track record.
“Look, I want to say I was for [former Senator David] Perdue. And as you know, I’m very deeply for Jake Evans in the sixth district,” Gingrich continued.
Former Senator David Perdue (R-GA) was the Trump-endorsed candidate for Governor in Georgia who lost the primary earlier this week.
Jake Evans is also a Trump-endorsed candidate, and is headed to runoff election in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District against fellow Republican Rich McCormick next month.
“But the fact is that Governor Kemp, to his credit, put together a very powerful campaign, used all the weapons that a sitting governor has to raise an amazing amount of money,” Gingrich said of Perdue’s opponent.
“[Kemp] spent about two and a half months demolishing Perdue as a candidate, with Perdue not having the money to counter it. And Kemp is going to win a significant victory,” he added.
“And I think we ought to be honest about it. That’s the only major defeat that Trump is going to have tonight,” Gingrich explained. “And overall, Trump’s track record so far verges on astonishing.”
“Look, in all of American history, I don’t know of any period where somebody who’s out of office has the kind of power in state after state, after state that Donald Trump has,” Gingirch concluded. “You can like him or dislike him, but that’s a fact.”
Even out of office, Donald Trump is still the kingmaker in the Republican Party.
His endorsement has already helped U.S. Senate candidates like Dr. Oz and J.D. Vance break through crowded primary fields on their way to victory in Pennsylvania and Ohio respectively.
President Trump’s remarkable primary record proves he’s still the driving force behind the GOP.
