Nancy Pelosi just made one crazy prediction that she is going to live to regret

Nancy Pelosi is in a fight for her political life.

But Speaker Pelosi thinks she knows something everyone else does not.

And Nancy Pelosi just made one crazy prediction that she is going to live to regret.

Colorado Congressman Earl Perlmutter became the 26th Democrat in the House of Representatives to announce their retirement.

Pundits view retirements as an indicator of how members of a party view their chances of staying in the majority.

A flood of members heading for the exits signals that they think their Party is about to take a spell in the minority.

In the House of Representatives, the minority has no power so longtime members look for a cushy job in the private sector rather than end up on the losing side of every vote.

Reporters asked Speaker Pelosi if the flood of Democrats heading off into retirement meant the Party was doomed to defeat in the November midterm elections.

Pelosi tried to put on a brave face and dismiss the idea that 26 Democrats retiring meant members of the Party thought they had no chance to win in November.

“No, it doesn’t. It means that they are getting on with their lives. And it’s a very personal decision, but we’re OK. We’re good,” Pelosi stated. “We are very much confident about the seats of people who are leaving.”

Members of the press then questioned Pelosi if the number of retirements created a similar feeling to the run up to the 2010 midterms where Republicans won a record 63 seats.

“No. Not at all. Not at all. It has nothing to do with that,” Pelosi responded.

Speaker Pelosi then falsely claimed that more Republicans retired in the 2010 cycle than Democrats have now.

“In fact, I think in 2010, the Republicans may have had more retirements than we have now. I’m not sure about that. We’re good. Everybody understands the challenge that our whole democracy is at stake,” Pelosi claimed.

That is not true.

Just 19 House Republicans retired in 2010.

So far, 26 Democrats announced their retirement heading into the 2022 midterms.

And there are more retirements expected as filing deadlines approach in states across the country.
