Joe Biden is expected to reveal his plans for 2024 shortly after the Christmas holidays.
Even though all indications are that Biden is running again, the majority of Democrats are not on board with his re-election efforts.
And Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer said two words about Joe Biden seeking a second term that caught everyone by surprise.
Polling continues to show that a strong majority of Democrat voters do not want President Joe Biden to run again in 2024.
A CNN poll released last week showed 59% of Democrat voters want someone other than President Biden to be the Party’s nominee in two years.
Of that 59%, just 51% said they would “definitely” vote for Biden if he is Democrats’ nominee.
Polling also shows the majority of Americans are concerned about President Biden’s age, with less than 25% believing he is mentally fit, healthy, and stable.
Additionally, 58% of Americans want Biden to take a cognitive test and publicly release the results, while nearly 55% of adults believe he is not mentally fit to be President.
Despite the President’s dismal poll numbers – even among voters in his own Party – two of the top Democrat leaders view him as an “excellent President,” and support him seeking a second term.
During a lunch meeting with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, outgoing Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told a CNN reporter that Biden has “done an excellent job as President.”
“I hope that he does seek reelection,” Pelosi declared. “He’s a person with great vision for our country. He’s been involved for a long time so he has great knowledge of the issues and the challenges we face.”
Rep. Pelosi added that Biden is a “great President” with a lot of “empathy” in his heart.
Senator Schumer echoed Pelosi’s praise for the President, and agreed he should run again.
“He’s done an excellent, excellent job,” Schumer claimed. “And if he runs, I’m going to support him all the way.”
Of course, questions about Biden’s age are starting to get under the President’s skin.
POLITICO recently reported that President Biden erupted into a fit of rage and shouted at staffers over legacy media coverage about his declining mental and physical abilities.
Joe Biden will be 82 years old in 2024.
The majority of Americans already believe he is mentally incapable of serving as President.
But Joe Biden believes he can convince the American people to keep him around until he is 86.
