Liz Cheney is no fan of Donald Trump.
Cheney’s obsession with Trump ended her career in Congress.
And now Liz Cheney called Donald Trump one name that will leave you red with rage.
The neo-conservative American Enterprise Institute scheduled Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) – of all people – to be their Constitution Day speaker.
This was Rep. Cheney’s first major public event since her embarrassing 37-point loss to Trump-endorsed challenger Harriet Hageman in Wyoming’s Republican Primary last month.
To the surprise of no one, Cheney used her speech to once again focus on the events of January 6.
Congresswoman Cheney recounted a story about being in the U.S. House cloakroom where there were sign up sheets present.
“I was working on my remarks, I was supposed to speak that day and there were sheets of paper laid out on the desks,” Cheney recalled. “And I asked one of the staffers in the cloakroom, what are these sheets of paper?”
Rep. Cheney added that the sheets were there so Republican members of Congress could add their name to the list of objectors to the Electoral College count.
“Because members were coming in and signing them,” she added. “And this person said to me, ‘Well, those are the objection sheets, because, you know, it’s only actually required that one House member object. But there were so many who wanted to show they were objecting that they’d set up these sign-up sheets in the cloakroom.”
Cheney then claimed a Republican member of Congress signed his name while muttering that Trump was “Orange Jesus,” and that he was only objecting to the results of the election to appease Trump voters.
“And as I was sitting there, a member came in and he signed his name on each one of the state’s sheets,” the Congresswoman claimed. “And then he said under his breath, ‘The things we do for the Orange Jesus.’ And I thought, you know, you’re taking an act that is unconstitutional.”
How exactly using the constitutional process of objecting to the Electoral College count – which she had admitted just a few sentences prior only requires one member to object, according to the Constitution – is “unconstitutional,” the Congresswoman never explains.
She also conveniently ignored all the times in the past few decades Democrat members of Congress undertook the exact same action, but those are obviously just pesky little facts that are getting in the way of the Democrat narrative Cheney wants to push.
Voters in Wyoming sent Rep. Liz Cheney packing because they were tired of her single-minded obsession with Donald Trump and January 6.
Cheney cannot stop talking about the former President, and the false claims that he somehow represents a grave “threat to democracy.”
Meanwhile, Liz Cheney continues to ignore the real threat to the American system of government, which is the fact that if Democrats expand their majorities in the House and Senate this fall they will eliminate the Senate filibuster, pack the Supreme Court, mandate nationwide ballot harvesting and mass mail-in-voting, and grant statehood to Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia.
And they’ll do it all to impose the same type of one party rule found in China and Russia on America, and end the practice of competitive elections once and for all.
But sure, let’s continue to pretend the 74 million Americans who voted for Donald Trump are the “extremists.”
