Lindsey Graham issued this dire warning about Donald Trump to GOP members who have aligned themselves with McConnell

It’s no secret that former President Donald Trump and current Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell won’t be swapping Christmas cards.

The war between Trump and McConnell continues to rage on.

And now Lindsey Graham issued this dire warning about Donald Trump to GOP members who have aligned themselves with McConnell.

Thirteen Republican Senators sided with Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and betrayed the American people by voting to raise the debt limit.

Just one day before the vote, Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina offered a forceful warning to Republican colleagues during a private lunch.

Graham told his colleagues that former President Donald Trump will undoubtedly come down hard on any GOP Senators who align with McConnell on this vote.

The South Carolina Senator blasted Mitch McConnell for putting Senate Republicans in a position to get “shot in the back” over the deal.

Republican Senators who had heard Graham’s remarks confirmed that his comments were highly critical of McConnell’s handling of the debt limit standoff.

Graham declined to tell The Hill what precisely he said in the lunch but did say he disagrees with the Senate Minority Leader’s decision to cut a deal with Chuck Schumer.

“I think this is a mistake, but we’ll see what happens,” Graham told The Hill. “We’ve been telling our Republican base for four months, ‘[Democrats] are spending money by themselves, they should raise the debt ceiling by themselves through reconciliation.’”

Mitch McConnell and the other Republicans who voted with him, sold out America and they know it.

Graham went on in the interview to say he knows this will not be received well by the “Republican faithful, including Donald Trump.”

Trump blasted Mitch McConnell saying the GOP leader “folded” and gave the Democrats a “total victory.”

It was said earlier this week that McConnell believed he had close to 18 Senators on board with the vote – that prediction proved to be wrong, but still he had the support he needed to sell conservatives out.

McConnell stands by his strategy saying that once Republicans vote with Democrats on a bill to establish a special pathway to raise the debt ceiling, Democrats will be forced to do the deed entirely on their own.

Mitch McConnell repeatedly told the American people that he wouldn’t help Democrats raise the debt limit.

But it looks like McConnell once again sold the American people a bunch of lies.
