The Left has devolved into utter madness.
They’re attempting to erase all of American history.
Now leftists are tearing down one statue that will infuriate you.
The New York City Council recently voted to take down a statue of Thomas Jefferson, America’s third President and author of the Declaration of Independence.
But in true Cultural Revolution style, all references to the past must be torn down so society can be remade anew.
The New York Times reports:
“For more than 100 years, a 7-foot-tall statue of Thomas Jefferson has towered over members of the New York City Council in their chamber at City Hall, a testament to his role as one of the nation’s founding fathers and the primary author of the Declaration of Independence. But for the last two decades, some Black and Latino Council members, citing Jefferson’s history as a slaveholder, called for the statue to be banished – a push that gained significant momentum in the last year, as the nation has broadly reconsidered public monuments that can be viewed as symbols of systemic racism. On Monday, city officials voted unanimously to remove the statue from Council chambers, but delayed a decision on where to put it.”
Once again, Donald Trump was proven correct.
After Charlottesville in 2017, Trump warned that the removal of Robert E. Lee’s statue would eventually lead to American Presidents.
In addition to Jefferson, statues of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, and Teddy Roosevelt were either forcibly torn down by far-left extremists, or voted down by far-left extremists in local government.
The Times continued:
“Last year, Lucian K. Truscott IV, a direct descendant of Jefferson, wrote in The New York Times that the Jefferson Memorial in Washington should be replaced by a monument of the abolitionist Harriet Tubman. Mr. Truscott said at Monday’s hearing that the statue should be removed because he couldn’t imagine what it was like for Black members of the City Council to see the statue when they entered the chamber.”
This Howard Zinn view of American history is psychotic.
Anyone who gets triggered by the statue of an American President that’s been alive or in office for more than one hundred years needs therapy.
These radical Left ideas have been bubbling for decades, but now they’ve reached the mainstream.
The Maoist revolution will continue apace until enough Americans get fed up and vote out these unhinged Democrats.
