The police became a convenient punching bag for every failed left-wing social experiment in cities.
With the police defunded and cops pulling back after being put in no win situations, crime skyrocketed around the country.
As a result of the Left’s anti-cop insanity, the country saw the highest ever increase in the murder rate.
With murders soaring, one of the grimmest statistics of the Biden era was revealed.
In 2021, 73 police officers were murdered in the line duty serving their communities.
More police officers were killed under President Biden in 2021 than any year since 1995.
This is a nearly 59% increase from the previous year when 46 officers were killed.
The most disturbing part of this horrific increase in police deaths is the rise of ambush attacks on officers.
32 officers died in ambush attacks in 2021, which broke the previous record set in 1987.
Jason Johnson, a police officer for 20 years and President of Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund offered his thoughts.
“Law enforcement officers have essentially been marginalized and demoralized and cast aside and encouraged not to enforce the law. And so we’ve seen massive jumps in the homicide rate in cities across America,” he said.
He expressed his frustration with the Biden regime saying their “actions have shown that they are not supportive of the police.”
“Police don’t expect you to be supportive if what they’ve done is wrong. That’s certainly not what we’re asking for. What we asked for is that the president and the administration not make a premature, judgmental and frankly wrong comments . . . next time a viral video comes out,” he continued.
“Until and unless we see some leadership — both in the White House and in individual cities, district attorneys that are willing to hold police accountable when they’re wrong but are willing to support them when they’re right — we’re going to continue to speak up not only with increasing levels of violent crime but increasing numbers of assaults and the killing of law enforcement officers,” he concluded.
Joe Biden is bearing the tragic consequences of the radical Left’s war on law enforcement.
With crime becoming a political problem, he’s tried to back off the “defund the police” movement.
But on the campaign trail, he told a left-wing activist “yes, absolutely” about redirecting police funding.
Biden might be “pro-police” for political convenience now but he’ll have to defend his regime’s grim track record.
