Joe Biden ran for President on a platform of putting America last.
He’s desperately trying to cover one major debacle.
Now Joe Biden is feeling the heat after this disturbing giveaway to terrorists was brought to light.
President Joe Biden’s botched withdrawal from Afghanistan was one of the biggest foreign policy disasters in American history.
Biden’s catastrophic failure was the lowest point for the country abroad since former President Barack Obama left the Situation Room in the middle of the 2012 attack on the American embassy in Benghazi, leaving Americans like Ambassador Christopher Stephens to die at the hands of terrorists.
The disaster in Afghanistan didn’t end for the Biden regime after the U.S. pulled out of the country.
The Biden regime has given over $1 billion in humanitarian aid to Afghanistan’s Taliban government since the August 2021 withdrawal.
As a result, America is now the single largest funder for the Taliban government since they retook power in the country.
The Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) says the Biden regime is stonewalling his office about how over $1 billion in taxpayer money was spent because multiple government agencies are refusing to turn over information.
SIGAR is required by law to provide a quarterly report to Congress about how taxpayer money is being spent in Afghanistan.
For the first time in SIGAR’s history, they don’t have any answers for Congress on where the money is going.
“SIGAR, for the first time in its history, is unable this quarter to provide Congress and the American people with a full accounting of this U.S. government spending due to the noncooperation of several U.S. government agencies,” Inspector General John F. Sopko said.
Sopko added that the United States Agency for International Development, which oversees most of the government’s spending in Afghanistan, and the Treasury Department “refused to cooperate with SIGAR in any capacity.”
He added that the State Department was “selective” about the information they provided, and failed to provide SIGAR with key details of where funding went.
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) demanded accountability in a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, and US AID Administrator Samantha Power for the $1.1 billion in taxpayer money funneled to the Taliban.
“I found it even more shocking, and maddening, that much of these illicit fund transfers are unaccounted for because your Department withheld information in violation of federal law,” Gaetz said.
The cover up is on for the Biden regime with the Biden Treasury Department claiming the agency has met all of its legal requirements.
Rep. Gaetz told Fox Business that the disturbing report from SIGAR is a “searing” indictment of the Biden regime’s total lack of transparency for billions in taxpayer money that went to the Taliban.
“57 times when SIGAR has issued their quarterly report they have declined to level this type of an indictment against [the] Trump Administration, the Obama Administration, or the Bush Administration,” Gaetz said. “The unwillingness to participate in transparency is the highest with the Biden government after the Biden government left the Taliban a military and now insists on unreviewed transfers of aid that has already exceeded a billion dollars.”
The Biden regime’s coverup of taxpayer money being funneled to the Taliban will be in the crosshairs of Republicans in the next Congress.
