Jim Jordan dropped one fact about the Comey indictment that left Democrats fuming

The weaponization of the federal government finally caught up with one of its architects.

James Comey thought he was untouchable after years of targeting conservatives.

And Jim Jordan dropped one fact about the Comey indictment that left Democrats fuming.

Jordan backs DOJ’s historic indictment of former FBI Director

Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH) didn’t mince words when CNN’s Dana Bash tried to corner him about the Department of Justice’s indictment of former FBI Director James Comey.

The chairman of the House Judiciary Committee confirmed he was "comfortable" with the charges against Comey during an appearance on State of the Union.

"You cannot argue with the fact Jim Comey said one thing under oath in front of the United States Congress. That’s what he’s being charged with: false statements to the Congress, 18 U.S.C. 1001," Jordan stated.¹

Comey now faces federal charges for allegedly lying to Congress during a September 30, 2020, hearing where he denied authorizing anonymous media disclosures related to the Trump-Russia investigation.

The former FBI Director has the dubious honor of becoming the first former FBI Director in American history to face arraignment.

For conservatives who watched Comey orchestrate a years-long campaign to undermine Donald Trump, this moment represents long-overdue accountability.

Jordan, who created the Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government as chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, has spent years documenting how federal agencies targeted conservatives.

Host tries to suggest Trump is pressuring DOJ

Bash couldn’t resist trying to undermine the indictment by suggesting political interference.

She pressed Jordan about whether he believed "that the Justice Department is acting independently from the president" or if it was "under pressure from the president."

Jordan shot down the insinuation with a simple explanation of how law enforcement is supposed to work.

"I think they are doing their job. I mean, I know the kind of information they’re giving to Congress, information we did not get under the previous FBI director or from the previous attorney general," Jordan replied.²

The Ohio Congressman was referring to President Trump’s Truth Social post last week demanding "JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED" regarding Comey, along with New York Attorney General Letitia James and Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA).

But Jordan made clear there’s nothing inappropriate about a President speaking his mind about accountability.

"The president is speaking his mind, and I think that’s entirely appropriate. What I know this Justice Department is doing is the good work that they’re supposed to do, looking at the law, looking at the facts, looking at each individual case and moving forward, I think in an appropriate fashion," Jordan added.³

Jordan exposes the double standard

Here’s what CNN and the rest of the media don’t want you to understand about this story.

For eight years under Barack Obama and Joe Biden, the Justice Department was weaponized against conservatives on a scale never before seen in American history.

James Comey was at the center of that weaponization campaign.

He authorized surveillance of American citizens based on opposition research paid for by Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

He leaked classified information to the media to trigger the appointment of a Special Counsel.

He lied to Congress about his role in authorizing those leaks.

And now Democrats are suddenly concerned about "independence" at the Justice Department?

Jordan has spent the last two years documenting exactly how agencies like the FBI targeted parents at school board meetings, pro-life activists, and anyone who questioned the 2020 election.

The Weaponization Subcommittee has produced evidence showing how the deep state coordinated with Big Tech to censor conservative voices and suppress information that might help Trump.

But when the tables turn and one of the chief architects of that weaponization finally faces accountability, suddenly the media discovers concerns about prosecutorial independence.

Jordan made his position crystal clear when Bash tried to suggest Trump was somehow corrupting the process.

"I’m comfortable with the president and how he’s handled his entire responsibilities with this issue, with foreign policy, with the border, with tax policy, you name it," Jordan said.⁴

Look, here’s what this really comes down to.

James Comey thought he was above the law because he had the backing of the Democrat establishment and their allies in the corrupt media.

He spent years targeting Donald Trump and his supporters while hiding behind the FBI badge.

Now he’s learning that no one – not even former FBI Directors – is immune from prosecution when they break the law.

For millions of Americans who watched Comey abuse his power for years, seeing him face the same legal system he weaponized against others feels like justice finally being served.

The only question now is whether other deep state actors will face similar accountability for their roles in the biggest political scandal in American history.
