CNN just crossed a line that has law enforcement officers seeing red.
The fake news network decided to promote something that puts American heroes in mortal danger.
And the ICE Chief torched CNN after they made one move that could get agents killed.
CNN promotes dangerous anti-ICE tracking app
Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons didn’t hold back when he appeared on Newsmax’s "Rob Schmitt Tonight" to blast CNN for their latest anti-law enforcement stunt.¹
The network has been promoting an iPhone app called ICEBlock that allows users to track Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations in real time.
The app functions like a twisted version of Waze for criminals and illegal aliens.
Users can drop pins on maps, share descriptions of ICE activity, and send alerts to anyone within a 5-mile radius when agents are conducting operations.
More than 30,000 people have already downloaded this dangerous tool that’s designed to help law-breakers evade justice.
"Yeah. No, I mean, it’s clearly disgusting the fact that CNN will go ahead and promote this," Lyons said during the interview.
He didn’t stop there.
"You know, one thing is, you know, they’re saying for people to avoid ICE raids, right? But what they’re doing is they’re interfering and impeding and putting law enforcement officers at risk," the ICE chief continued.
ICE operations aren’t "raids" – they’re law enforcement
Lyons also called out CNN’s biased language when they describe routine immigration enforcement as "raids."
"So now you have an app that’s actively promoting where a law enforcement action takes place. You know, I even take issue with CNN saying raids, right? This is the first time, like you said, we’re taking a commonsense approach to law enforcement, and we’re out there doing regular day-to-day law enforcement activities," he explained.¹
That’s exactly right.
President Donald Trump campaigned on enforcing immigration law, and that’s exactly what his administration is doing.
These aren’t military-style "raids" – they’re professional law enforcement operations to arrest people who broke the law by entering the country illegally.
But CNN can’t help themselves when it comes to demonizing Trump’s immigration policies.
App creates dangerous situation for ICE agents
The real problem with this app isn’t just that it helps criminals evade arrest.
It’s that it creates a powder keg situation where ICE agents could be attacked by angry mobs.
"This app only puts law enforcement’s lives at risk because you’re going to have people interfering in an ICE operation where they shouldn’t even be there," Lyons warned.¹
The numbers back up his concerns.
Assaults on ICE officers have skyrocketed by nearly 500% as anti-immigration activists have ramped up their resistance to Trump’s enforcement efforts.
"Like I’ve always said before, we’re up almost 500% of assaults on officers right now. And it’s because of apps like this. It’s because of the crazy rhetoric of some elected officials [who] are totally putting lives of ICE officers and agents at risk every day," Lyons said.
When radical Democrats and their media allies like CNN promote tools that interfere with law enforcement, they’re essentially painting targets on the backs of ICE agents.
These are brave men and women who risk their lives every day to protect American communities from dangerous criminals who have no right to be in this country.
DOJ considering legal action
Lyons revealed that ICE is working with the Department of Justice to determine what legal action can be taken against people who use the app to interfere with operations.
"We’ve been very aggressive with the Department of Justice. They’ve been great partners with us as far as prosecuting anyone that has impeded or interfered with ICE arrest," he said. "So that’s what we’re focusing on now with the Department of Justice — to see exactly what we can do."
The Acting ICE Director made it clear that this dangerous behavior needs to stop immediately.
"Now you have this blatant advertising of getting involved with the law enforcement mission that’s just totally wrong. And it needs to stop," Lyons declared.
CNN has spent years attacking Trump’s immigration policies and cheering on the chaos at the southern border during the Biden administration.
Now they’re actively promoting technology that could get federal law enforcement officers killed.
It’s time for Congress to investigate CNN’s role in obstructing immigration enforcement and endangering the lives of ICE agents who are just trying to do their jobs and keep America safe.
