Hillary Clinton thought she could take another cheap shot at Donald Trump.
But her latest attempt at staying relevant blew up in spectacular fashion.
And Hillary Clinton made one vicious attack on Trump that instantly backfired in her face.
Hillary Clinton tries to rain on Trump’s military parade
President Donald Trump honored America’s military heroes with a parade for the 250th anniversary celebration for the U.S. Army.
The festivities featured flyovers, parachute jumps, and a grand fireworks display over the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
Despite some early concerns about rain, the weather cleared up perfectly for the celebration of the Army.
The President delivered an eight-minute speech warning America’s enemies about the strength of the U.S. military.
"There is no earthly force more powerful than the brave heart of the U.S. military or an Army Ranger paratrooper or Green Beret," Trump told the crowd gathered around the Washington Monument.
But Hillary Clinton couldn’t resist trying to diminish Trump’s celebration of America’s armed forces.
The failed 2016 presidential candidate took to social media to mock what she called Trump’s "low-energy Dear Leader parade."
Clinton posted side-by-side photos comparing Trump’s military celebration to the liberal "No Kings Day" protests happening across the country.
"Compare and contrast scenes from yesterday in America. On the one hand, Trump’s low-energy Dear Leader parade (that cost you $45 million). On the other, millions of people across the country gathering peacefully to say: Here, we have no kings," Clinton wrote.
Social media users destroy Hillary Clinton for attacking the military
Clinton’s attack on Trump’s celebration of the military sparked immediate outrage from Americans who saw her post as an insult to the troops.
"Hillary Clinton hates the troops, bigtime," wrote Eric Daugherty.
Travis Parsley went even further, posting "Hillary Clinton hates everything about America!"
One social media user asked a question that cut to the heart of Clinton’s motives: "Do you think Hillary hates our military?"
The backlash was so intense that Clinton turned off replies to her post, just like she’s done with previous controversial tweets.
"Turn on your replies or put down the phone!" one user demanded.
Many Americans brought up Clinton’s long history of scandals to remind her why she shouldn’t be throwing stones.
"Yes!! Remember Benghazi," one person replied, referencing the 2012 terrorist attack that killed four Americans including Ambassador Christopher Stevens.
The House Benghazi committee’s 800-page report accused Clinton of "shameful" conduct over her secret email server and lying to the American people about what caused the attacks.
Others reminded Clinton of her infamous "basket of deplorables" comment where she smeared half of Trump’s supporters as racist, homophobic, sexist, xenophobic, or Islamophobic during her failed 2016 campaign.
"She hates our country. We are deplorables," one user wrote.
Clinton’s hypocrisy gets exposed
What made Clinton’s attack even more tone-deaf was the timing.
She was criticizing Trump for celebrating the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army while comparing it to anti-Trump protests.
The parade showcased the history of America’s Army, with participants wearing uniforms from different periods to honor the military’s legacy.
Trump’s family members attended the celebration, including Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump with wife Lara, and Tiffany Trump.
White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles and Ultimate Fighting Championship CEO Dana White were also in attendance.
The event concluded with a spectacular fireworks display over the National Mall timed to patriotic songs.
But Clinton saw fit to attack this celebration of America’s military heritage because it involved Donald Trump.
Her post revealed everything Americans need to know about the Democrat Party’s attitude toward the military and patriotism.
While some of Clinton’s liberal supporters cheered her attack, the overwhelming response showed that Americans are tired of her constant negativity.
"And no one needed to pay us to protest. We hate him for free!" wrote Jennifer Vallez, perfectly capturing the left’s obsession with hating Trump.
The contrast couldn’t be clearer between Trump honoring America’s military heroes and Clinton attacking him for it.
Americans saw through Clinton’s petty attempt to diminish a celebration of the brave men and women who defend our freedom.
Her vicious attack backfired because it reminded everyone why she lost in 2016 and why she remains one of the most unpopular figures in American politics.
