George Soros has been pumping millions into liberal causes for decades.
But his latest scheme could shake the political map to its core.
And George Soros made one massive bet that could turn Texas upside down.
Soros drops millions to flip the Lone Star State
Globalist billionaire George Soros isn’t giving up on his dream of turning America’s largest conservative stronghold into a Democrat playground.
Texas Majority PAC, the Soros-funded political action committee, just launched a new "Blue Texas" initiative that has Republicans across the state concerned.
The coalition includes the Texas Democrat Party and several county parties with one clear mission: flip Texas blue by mobilizing volunteers, recruiting candidates, and boosting Democrat turnout for the 2026 midterm elections.
Their ultimate goal is even more ambitious – turning the Lone Star State into a battleground by 2032 following the next round of redistricting.
"If a win is on the table in 2026, we don’t want to leave it there by not being organized," Katherine Fischer, the deputy executive director of Texas Majority PAC, told The Wall Street Journal.
This isn’t Soros’s first rodeo when it comes to trying to flip Texas.
The liberal mega-donor has been pouring cash into the state for years in hopes of breaking the Republican stranglehold on statewide politics.
Soros won’t stop throwing money at Texas
The numbers behind Soros’s Texas operation are staggering.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Soros donated $2.1 million to Texas Majority in 2024 and $1 million in April.
Over the previous year, Fox News reported that Soros contributed more than $3 million to liberal groups working to help Democrats gain traction in the GOP stronghold.
Texas Majority, the state Democrat Party, and the Blue Texas alliance collectively spent about $35 million in the 2024 election cycle.
All that money bought them absolutely nothing.
Democrats haven’t won a statewide election in Texas since 1994.
President Donald Trump carried the state three times, including last year when he defeated Kamala Harris by more than 13 percentage points.
Republicans have won every presidential election in Texas since 1980, and the last Democrat U.S. Senator to win an election in the state was Lloyd Bentsen in 1988.
Even $100 million couldn’t stop Ted Cruz
The most recent example of Soros’s failed Texas strategy came during the 2024 Senate race.
Senator Ted Cruz faced a well-funded Democrat challenger backed by Soros and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.
"Chuck Schumer has been explicit that I’m his No. 1 target in the country," Cruz told Newsmax. "And they are flooding the state of Texas with cash. This is right now the single most expensive Senate race in the entire country. Chuck Schumer and George Soros are spending more than $100 million trying to beat me."
Despite the massive spending advantage, Cruz was reelected to a third term.
The defeat had to sting for Soros, who has made targeting Cruz a personal mission.
Republicans gear up for the next fight
Looking ahead to 2026, Republicans in Texas face their own internal battles.
RINO U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) will face a primary challenge from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, setting up what could be an expensive and divisive GOP primary.
This internal fight could provide an opening for Democrats to capitalize on, especially with Soros’s deep pockets funding their efforts.
But history suggests that no amount of outside money can overcome the conservative values that run deep in Texas.
The Lone Star State has proven time and again that it can’t be bought by liberal billionaires with radical agendas.
Soros’s latest attempt to flip Texas blue will likely end the same way as all his previous efforts – with disappointed Democrats and wasted millions.
The people of Texas have repeatedly rejected the far-left agenda that Soros represents, and they’ll do it again in 2026.
