Donald Trump was blindsided when Fox News announced this shocking resignation

As always Fox News is dominating the ratings for cable news networks.

But the network took everyone by surprise with one decision about an on-air talent.

And Donald Trump was blindsided when Fox News announced this shocking resignation.

Former President Donald Trump’s decision to launch a third bid for the White House created shockwaves throughout the political world.

It also forced Fox News to make one major change to their lineup of on-air talent as a result.

The former President’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump’s, role as a paid contributor for Fox News is coming to an end.

Lara is married to the former President’s son, Eric Trump.

The network has a policy against employing anyone running for office or anyone who has a close connection to a political candidate.

“We appreciate Lara’s valuable contributions across Fox News Media programming,” a Fox News spokesperson said in a statement to the Los Angeles Times

Lara Trump was a regular guest on Fox News programming before joining the network as a paid contributor in March 2021.

She was noted for being a strong defender of her father-in-law on popular Fox News programs, like Hannity.

But Lara also hasn’t appeared on Fox News since her father-in-law launched his third Presidential campaign on November 15.

Her departure comes as the Murdoch family, who owns Fox News, The New York Post, and The Wall Street Journal, are opposing another Presidential bid by Trump.

The Murdochs are reportedly throwing their support behind Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in the 2024 Republican Presidential Primary.

The New York Post and Wall Street Journal have been openly critical of Trump seeking another term in the White House.

Lara Trump’s departure was reportedly amicable, according to a report from the Los Angeles Times, and she could still appear on the network as a guest without being compensated.

Now that she’s left her role at Fox News, it could open the door for Lara to return to her past role as a top surrogate for her father-in-law’s Presidential campaign.

During the 2016 and 2020 Presidential campaigns, Lara Trump served as a popular campaign surrogate, making appearances around the country and boosting support among female voters.

With other members of Donald Trump’s family stepping away from his 2024 Presidential campaign, it could provide an opportunity for Lara.

Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner have announced that they won’t be taking part in the Presidential campaign this time around after serving as top White House advisors during the Trump administration.

While they’re stepping away from politics, it appears that Lara Trump may be interested in making a career for herself out of politics.

She was rumored to be strongly considering a Senate bid in her native North Carolina this year before passing on a potential run – although, with a Gubernatorial election in 2024, and RINO Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) up for re-election in 2026, she has plenty of other opportunities in the near future to make a major run in the state.

Now, Lara Trump is free to join her father-in-law’s Presidential campaign as he mounts another bid for the White House.
