Donald Trump killed one sneaky global tax that would have cost Americans billions

The globalists thought they had it in the bag.

They were ready to hit Americans in the wallet.

But Donald Trump killed one sneaky global tax that would have cost Americans billions.

The U.N. nearly pulled off the biggest money grab in history

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz just exposed how close America came to getting robbed blind by foreign powers.

In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News at the U.N. General Assembly, Waltz revealed a coordinated scheme by the European Union, Brazil, and other nations to force a Green New Deal mandate on the global shipping industry — and stick American consumers with the bill.

The plan targeted ships powered by coal, gas, or oil with massive fines that would have cost American companies a billion dollars every single month.¹

Think about that for a second. A billion dollars. Every month. And who do you think pays when shipping companies get hit with billion-dollar tax bills?

You do. At the grocery store. At the gas pump. Every time you buy anything that came on a ship — which is basically everything.

"They were this close to mandating that we basically have a Green New Deal in our global shipping fleet," Waltz explained.²

Eighty percent of America's economy depends on trade. This wasn't some symbolic gesture or feel-good climate resolution. This was an economic weapon aimed directly at American wallets.

The scheme would have created what Waltz called a "U.N. climate slush fund" worth $12 to $15 billion annually — a giant pot of money controlled by unelected globalists and funded entirely by fines on American ships.³

But wait, it gets worse.

The only places American shipping companies could retrofit their vessels to meet the new "green" standards? Chinese ports and shipyards. Meanwhile, the EU would rake in profits by subsidizing the biofuels they wanted to force on U.S. ships.⁴

The whole thing was rigged from the start. China wins. Europe wins. America loses. And the globalists running the U.N. get to play with $15 billion a year of other people's money.

That's when Trump stepped in and killed it.

Trump body slams the climate bullies

The EU and Brazil thought this was a done deal. They'd spent months greasing the wheels, lining up votes, getting ready to celebrate their historic "victory" for the climate.

Then Trump's cabinet caught wind of what was happening.

Waltz described a whole-of-government scramble involving Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, Energy Secretary Chris Wright, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and multiple U.S. Senators who represented states with major ports.

They raised the alarm. They made the calls. They laid out exactly what this scheme would do to American consumers and American industry.

And then Trump himself came in with a Truth Social post that Waltz compared to a wrestler finishing off an opponent from the top rope.

"The President brought what only he can do with a powerful Truth," Waltz said. "We said there will be consequences if you do this and we laid out what those consequences were."⁵

The globalists weren't ready for that. After four years of Joe Biden nodding along to whatever they wanted, they'd forgotten what it's like to face an American President who actually fights for Americans.

Critics immediately started whining that the Trump administration was being "diplomatic gangsters and bullies" for standing up to their shakedown scheme.

Waltz didn't back down an inch.

"It was they who are being the climate bullies and we're not going to allow them to do that to our shipping fleet," Waltz fired back.⁶

The administration killed the vote and delayed it until next year. And they made America's position crystal clear — this global tax scheme is dead. Try it again and face the consequences.

This is why Trump can't walk away from these globalist institutions

Some conservatives want America to pull out of the U.N. completely. Walk away. Let them rot.

Waltz explained why that would be a disaster — because these people will pass their schemes whether America is in the room or not. And American businesses will still get hit with the costs.

"If we just walked away, they would have done it," Waltz said. "We would have ignored it. But you know what? Whether it's our farmers exporting our crops or our manufacturers bringing in certain parts they need or what have you, everybody would have been affected."⁷

That billion dollars a month wasn't going away just because America wasn't at the table. It would have shown up in your grocery bill. Your gas prices. Everything you buy that arrives on a container ship — which is almost everything.

The only difference is whether America has someone in the room fighting back or not.

Under Biden? Nobody fought. The globalists got whatever they wanted and American consumers paid the price.

Under Trump? The schemes get exposed and killed before they can do damage.

This whole scam exposed what the global climate movement really is — a wealth transfer scheme designed to crush American energy independence while making China and Europe richer.

American shipping companies would have faced a choice: pay billions in fines that get passed on to consumers, or retrofit their ships in Chinese yards using European fuels. Either way, America loses and our enemies win.

Waltz laid out how insane the climate ideology behind these regulations really is.

"For example, in AI [artificial intelligence], a big piece of that is power. You can't power AI through wind and solar — you just can't," Waltz said.⁸

America needs nuclear, gas, oil, coal, and renewable energy to compete globally. The world needs massive amounts of power, especially as artificial intelligence explodes. You can't run data centers on windmills and solar panels. It's fantasy.

But the globalists don't care. They keep trying to backdoor these regulations through international organizations that favor European and Chinese interests over American workers and consumers.

Waltz promised the Trump administration will keep fighting with what he called "fighters" in key positions who believe in Trump's America First agenda.

The globalists will try this again. They always do.

But now they know Trump is watching. And he's not afraid to come off the top rope and finish them off.
