Rumors swirled about whether President Joe Biden would seek a second term, but he finally made his official re-election announcement.
Democrats are stuck with Biden despite numerous polls that found the Party’s voters want someone else at the top of the ticket.
The President’s advanced age and clear mental decline make sending him out the campaign trail a big risk.
As a result, the Democrat Party is protecting him by turning the Democrat Presidential Primary into a coronation.
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has canceled all Presidential Primary debates for the 2024 election cycle.
President Biden hadn’t attracted any top tier challengers in the Primary yet, but two candidates are in the race already.
Best-selling self-help author and spiritual guru Marianne Williamson is back for another campaign after running in 2020, and Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., the heir of one of the country’s biggest political dynasties, also threw his hat in the ring.
Democrats have made a show out of claiming that they’re the Party of democracy, but they’re taking away the opportunity from voters to hear from two candidates challenging Biden.
The DNC mentions the need to “strengthen our democracy” multiple times in the Democrat Party platform, but that apparently doesn’t apply to the Democrat Presidential Primary.
Williamson previously said that the Democrat Primary process was “rigged,” and canceling the debates added to her gripes with her Party.
She said canceling the debates showed that the DNC thinks “there ARE simply no other candidates,” and “no other ideas we should discuss about ways to win in 2024, or other ideas we should discuss about ways to repair the country.”
Kennedy slammed the decision in an interview with Breitbart News.
“When you have so many Americans who are concerned about election integrity, we should be doing everything we can in our party [Democrat Party] to show that, you know, this is not rigged, rigged system,” Kennedy said. “That it is actually democracy – people can run and that they can get to debate and that the public is gonna be able to see them, and [the DNC is] doing kind of the opposite.”
The DNC also moved around the Primary calendar to benefit the President by making South Carolina the first contest.
Biden’s strength with black voters in South Carolina propelled him to the nomination in 2020 after a rocky start that had many thinking his campaign could be short-lived.
Normally, Iowa and New Hampshire are the first two nominating contests in the nation, but the President finished fourth and fifth respectively in those states during the 2020 Primary.
The Democrat establishment is lining up to insulate Biden from a serious Primary challenge by rigging the system in his favor.
Once again, Democrats are determined to drag Joe Biden across the finish line in another election.
