Democrats are beginning to panic about one giant tactical mistake

Joe Biden’s Presidency is springing leaks left and right.

His dwindling popularity does not bode well for the party.

And Democrats are beginning to panic about one giant tactical mistake.

Progressive data scientist David Shor was considered a 16-year-old wunderkind in 2008 when his analysis accurately predicted Barack Obama’s victory.

But last year, Shor was fired from his job at Civis Analytics for having the gall to say that riots do not help Democrats electorally and used the 1968 election as an example.

Democrats doubled down on the radicalism and won the White House, but actually lost seats in the House.

Now Shor and the Democrats are concerned that their electoral prospects in 2022 and 2024 are grim.

Shor believes that the Democrats’ insistence on bull-horning unpopular far-left policies is going to further alienate moderate voters of all races.

The New York Times reports:

“Shor believes the party has become too unrepresentative at its elite levels to continue being representative at the mass level. “I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the people we’ve lost are likely to be low-socioeconomic-status people,” he said. “If you look inside the Democratic Party, there are three times more moderate or conservative nonwhite people than very liberal white people, but very liberal white people are infinitely more represented. That’s morally bad, but it also means eventually they’ll leave.” The only way out of this, he said, is to “care more and cater to the preference of our low-socioeconomic-status supporters.”

Buttressing Shor’s point, Donald Trump won the largest GOP share of nonwhite voters since 1960.

Blue-collar people of all races are rejecting the increasing wokeness of the Democrat Party.

Fortunately for Republicans, many Democrats are not heeding Shor’s warning.

Other Democrats want to triple and quadruple down on the Orange Man Bad rhetoric.

The Times continued:

“What does create energy, [A.F.L.-C.I.O. director Michael] Podhorzer thinks, is fear of the other side. His view is that Democrats’ best chance, even now, is to mobilize their base against Trump and everything he represents. “The challenge in 2022 is to convince people that they’re again voting on whether or not the country is going in a Trumpist direction,” he said.

The Democrats have a withering selection of popular policies to run on because they’ve hewed so far to the Left, and all they have remaining is anti-Trup fear-mongering.

That will only take the Democrats so far, especially after Americans got a good look of what the Democrats do when they’re in power.
