California is the blueprint for what Democrats want to do to the rest of the country.

Now the state is trying to infect other states with its failed socialist agenda.

And Democrat-controlled California is quietly plotting for this deranged environmental extremist scheme to take over the entire country.

California is trying to dictate national emission standards

California is able to bully the rest of the country into accepting many of its left-wing policies as the largest state in the country.

The California Air Resource Board (CARB) was given the ability to set stricter tailpipe emission standards under the Clean Air Act by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

And a dozen other states, as well as Washington, D.C., have adopted the emission standards set by CARB.

That forces the hands of automakers to make vehicles that comply with California’s standards or lose access to the biggest consumer market in the United States.

California can flex its muscles to force its emissions standards on the rest of the country.

And the state is using it to create a nationwide de facto electric vehicle mandate.

California has set out to outlaw the sale of gasoline-powered cars by 2035 and instituted a mandate that requires that automakers ramp up their sale of electric vehicles.

Unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats in California are making sweeping policy decisions that affect the rest of the county.

The American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM), the Domestic Energy Producers’ Alliance (DEPA), the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS), the Energy Marketers of America (EMA), and other industry groups filed a federal lawsuit in D.C. Circuit court to eliminate the EPA’s waiver to California.

The Washington, D.C. Circuit court sided with California by claiming that the group lacked standing, so they’re ready to take the legal battle to the U.S. Supreme Court.

A ruling against California could shut down the state’s scheme of leveraging its size to force a slew of environmental extremist laws on the rest of the country.

California doesn’t get to dictate this country’s laws

AFPM CEO and President Chet Thompson said that California is usurping the power of Congress with its emission standards.

“We are asking the Supreme Court to reverse the D.C. Circuit’s erroneous holding that fuel providers lack ‘standing’ to challenge EPA’s unlawful California waiver, and also to provide long overdue clarity on the authority of EPA and California to mandate electric vehicles,” Thompson said.

“California is not a ‘super state,’ its Clean Air Act carveout does not give it special privileges to regulate greenhouse gas emissions standards or dictate what types of car and truck powertrains can be sold in this country,” he continued. “Authority of this magnitude rests with Congress.”

To date, Republican Attorneys General in 17 states have also filed a lawsuit against California over the CARB standards.

“As a concurrent challenge of 17 States explains, there are serious constitutional concerns with a statute that allows only California to act as a junior-varsity EPA,” the group’s court filing states. “Simply put, the waiver and authority claimed here are key parts of a coordinated agency strategy to convert the nation from liquid-fuel-powered vehicles to electric vehicles.”

The Supreme Court has the chance to stop California from bypassing Congress to force its electric vehicle agenda on the rest of the country.
