Dan Crenshaw got hit with a reality check that will leave him red with rage

Texas Congressman Dan Crenshaw suffered a massive setback.

RINOs like Crenshaw always think attacking conservatives is their ticket to power.

But Dan Crenshaw got hit with a reality check that will leave him red with rage.

Republicans on the House Homeland Security Committee voted to make House Freedom Caucus member Rep. Mark Green (R-TN) the Committee’s Chairman.

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) also pursued the chairmanship, but lost out to the more conservative Congressman Green.

Green posted a statement to Twitter following the vote proclaiming President Joe Biden’s border crisis his number one priority.

“For the sake of our national security and homeland security, ending the border crisis President Biden created is our top priority,” Green wrote.

“I’m grateful to [Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA)] and the House Republican Steering Committee for entrusting me with this task; it’s time to get to work and fulfill our Commitment to America!” he added.

Rep. Green, who like Rep. Crenshaw is a combat veteran, offered an olive branch to his rival.

“[Rep. Dan Crenshaw] ran a spirited race,” Green stated. “I’m grateful for his friendship and leadership. I look forward to working with him, a fellow veteran who understands our national security challenges, to secure our homeland.”

Crenshaw may have cost himself the Committee Chair position with a recent interview on The Guy Benson Show in which he smeared conservatives opposing Rep. McCarthy for Speaker of the House as “terrorists.”

Congressman Crenshaw likes to present himself as some sort of conservative champion, but in many ways he has simply proven himself to be nothing more than the ideological successor to former warhawk Senator John McCain (R-AZ).

Like McCain, Crenshaw supports the Hillary Clinton foreign policy strategy of endless wars in the Middle East, and he also supports a never-ending funding stream for President Biden’s proxy war with Russia in Ukraine.

And just as McCain positioned himself as an opponent of the Second Amendment, the Texas Congressman spoke favorably about red flag confiscation laws.

But it’s not just McCain’s ideology that Crenshaw imitates.

The late Arizona Senator constantly attacked conservatives, and at one point, even called opponents of warrantless government spying “hobbits.”

In addition to his comments attacking conservatives as “terrorists” for wanting to negotiate a rules package that would help Drain the Washington, D.C. Swamp, Rep. Crenshaw previously attacked the House Freedom Caucus as “grifters.”

But Dan Crenshaw’s McCain-like tendency to always punch Right came back to bite him in the end.
