Bill Clinton Deployed One January 6 Legal Strategy That Left James Comer Stunned

Bill Clinton has the well deserved nickname “Slick Willy.”

He’s trying to weasel his way out of trouble once again.

And Bill Clinton deployed one January 6 legal strategy that left James Comer stunned.

Clintons Refuse House Oversight Deposition on Epstein

Bill and Hillary Clinton told House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer to pound sand.

The former President was scheduled to appear for a closed-door deposition Tuesday morning as part of the committee's Jeffrey Epstein investigation.

Hillary was on deck for Wednesday.

Neither showed up.

Instead, Comer got an eight-page legal brief from their lawyers plus a joint letter from the Clintons packed with grievances against Republicans.

The lawyers made their case simple: we've already told everything we know, Congress doesn't have authority to ask for more, and this whole thing just embarrasses us.

The Clintons' personal letter sounded like an MSNBC segment come to life.

Bill revived one of his old lines, declaring this is "not about Right or Left, it's about Right and Wrong."

Clintons Invoke Trump's January 6 Defense in Stunning Reversal

The Clintons invoked a Supreme Court ruling that protected Donald Trump from testifying about the January 6 Capitol riots.

Their letter accused Comer of treating subpoenas as "inviolate" against them while staying silent when Trump took the same position as a former president.

The Clintons spent years attacking Trump.

Now they're citing his legal victories to avoid testifying.

Trump faced a subpoena from the January 6 committee in 2022.

His lawyers cited decades of legal precedent shielding former presidents from congressional testimony.

The committee withdrew its subpoena.

Epstein Photos Show Clinton's Close Ties

Bill appears in photos with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, smiling like old friends.

The pool photo shows Bill with Woman With a Redacted Face.

Maxwell showed up at Chelsea Clinton's wedding.

Clinton traveled on Epstein's private jet more than 25 times after leaving office according to Justice Department files released in December.

Epstein visited the White House at least 17 times during Clinton's presidency.

Clinton wrote a handwritten note for a birthday greeting album Maxwell compiled for Epstein's 50th birthday in 2003.

"It's reassuring isn't it, to have lasted as long, across all the years of learning and knowing, adventures and [illegible word], and also to have your childlike curiosity, the drive to make a difference and the solace of friends," Clinton wrote.

That's not how casual acquaintances write to each other.

Comer negotiated with Clinton lawyers for five months.

He's moving to hold both Clintons in contempt of Congress next Wednesday.

The subpoenas were approved unanimously — Republicans and Democrats both voted for it.

Speaker Mike Johnson already signaled his support.

"I think clearly, he's defied a subpoena of Congress," Johnson said Tuesday.

Will DOJ Pursue Criminal Contempt of Congress Charges?

Bill Clinton has dodged consequences for decades.

Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro both served prison time for defying January 6 committee subpoenas.

Criminal contempt of Congress carries up to one year in prison and a $100,000 fine.

Attorney General Merrick Garland was held in contempt in 2024 for refusing to turn over audio of Biden's interview with special counsel Robert Hur.

The Biden DOJ declined to prosecute.

Biden's Justice Department protected Biden's Attorney General.

Pam Bondi runs DOJ now.

She oversaw the release of Epstein files in December that included photos of Clinton with Epstein and Maxwell.

The question is whether she'll pursue contempt charges as aggressively as Garland's DOJ went after Bannon and Navarro.

The Democrats weaponized the justice system against Trump for years.

Bill Clinton's darkest secrets are catching up with him.

His move to invoke Trump's legal victories shows how desperate he's gotten.
