Anthony Fauci must be grinning from ear-to-ear after Ron DeSantis got handed these disturbing numbers

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is a rising star in the Republican Party.

His willingness to stand up to Anthony Fauci’s authoritarian demands quickly catapulted DeSantis into the national spotlight.

But Anthony Fauci must be grinning from ear-to-ear after Ron DeSantis got handed these disturbing numbers.

Aside from Donald Trump, there is no Republican who Democrats hate and fear more than Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

They fear DeSantis because they see him as the top contender for the Republican nomination should Donald Trump choose not to run for President again in 2024.

They hate DeSantis because of his willingness to speak his mind, stand up, and fight back against the radical Left.

Like Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis doesn’t roll over and apologize when the corporate-controlled media attacks and smears him.

Like Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis fights back – and he fights back hard.

DeSantis fought back against the “woke” crowd and removed Marxist-based Critical Race Theory from Florida classrooms.

He’s called Joe Biden out multiple times on the border crisis.

But what got the attention of Republican voters nationwide was the way Ron DeSantis ignored Biden and Fauci’s mandates and kept Florida mostly open during the pandemic.

Even though DeSantis never implemented a state-wide mask mandate and only locked the state down for a brief period in 2020, Florida saw fewer deaths than blue states like New York and California who implemented mandates and lockdowns.

This led to a nationwide smear campaign against DeSantis, which included the CDC putting out false COVID numbers on Florida in an effort to make DeSantis look bad.

DeSantis called out the CDC, forcing them to issue a correction.

But a new Quinnipiac University Poll shows the smear campaign is working.

“Amid a frightening surge in cases, DeSantis weathers withering criticism from critics on his handling of COVID-19,” wrote Quinnipiac University Polling Analyst Tim Malloy.

According to the poll, 51 percent of voters disapprove of the way DeSantis handled COVID-19, with 46 percent saying they approve.

When it comes to running for President in 2024, only 35 percent of voters believe DeSantis should seek the Oval Office with 59 percent saying it’s a bad idea.

But the poll wasn’t all bad news for DeSantis.

Despite the ongoing smear campaign, on overall job performance, 47 percent of voters approve of DeSantis while 45% disapprove of his performance.

“His [DeSantis] numbers have actually improved from a year ago,” said Malloy.
