The Democrats aren’t even pretending to be moderate anymore.
That’s why Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has become the face of the party.
But Ocasio-Cortez told one huge lie that just blew up in her face.
Avowed Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is furious with Senator Joe Manchin.
The West Virginia moderate halted the Democrats’ plans to implement Joe Biden’s absurd Build Back Better spending bill.
Inflation is already at a 39-year high, and BBB would only make it worse.
Manchin has become the nemesis of the progressives within the party, and the corporate-controlled press has sided with the fringe Left.
Ocasio-Cortez appeared on MSNBC with Joe Scarborough to vent her frustration with Manchin.
During her rant, Ocasio-Cortez said she represented more people than Manchin:
“It’s a farce in terms of, you know, plain democracy, because I represent more – or just, just as many, or more people than Joe Manchin does, perhaps more.”
However, Ocasio-Cortez is wrong.
She, in fact, does not represent more people than Manchin.
But the New York Post blew a hole through that claim:
“AOC also blasted Manchin (D-WV) for saying he couldn’t support the social spending legislation because he would be unable to explain it to his Mountain State constituents, calling that justification a ‘farce’…West Virginia’s population is 1.79 million, while New York’s 14th Congressional District, which encompasses parts of the Bronx and Queens, is comprised of about 750,000 people.”
Ocasio-Cortez once said that it’s better to be morally correct than factually correct, so in her view, lies don’t matter so long as they benefit her cause.
That is precisely how radical leftists think.
There is no boundary they will not cross in pursuit of their perverted vision of “social justice.”
Ocasio-Cortez didn’t stop there.
She also called the Senate an “old boys’ club”:
“What we really need to do is crack down on the Senate, which operates like an old boys’ club that has a couple of gals in it that have managed to break through.”
What cracking down would entail is anyone’s guess.
The Senators were democratically elected by their constituents, so supposedly democracy is bad when it does not yield the result Ocasio-Cortez wants.
The radical tilt of the Democrat Party is exemplified by MSNBC host Scarborough.
The former Republican Congressman became a so-called “independent” because of his Trump Derangement Syndrome, and now he’s nodding along with a wild-eyed socialist.
The Left have lost the plot.
Manchin and the few moderate holdouts are trying to pull the party from the brink, but they’re losing.
