A Donald Trump-appointed Judge just smacked Democrats with this stinging defeat

One of Donald Trump’s greatest legacies as President was stacking the judiciary with hundreds of conservative Justices that will hand down rulings for decades.

Democrats are in the process of learning this painful lesson.

And a Trump-appointed Judge just smacked Democrats with this stinging defeat .

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals that covers California and the west coast is known as a bastion of liberalism.

During the Trump Presidency, leftists would file lawsuits in California in the hopes that the Ninth Circuit would throw up roadblocks to the Trump agenda.

But thanks to Donald Trump’s conveyor belt of judicial appointments, the makeup of the court shifted a bit to the Right.

And conservatives celebrated when Judge Ryan Nelson wrote for a majority on the court in striking down California’s law banning individuals under the age of 21 from purchasing rifles.

20-year-old Matthew Jones of San Diego County filed suit arguing the law infringed upon his right to purchase firearms for self-defense.

Judge Nelson ruled that the Second Amendment was fundamental to American freedom as the country would not exist had the colonists not been free to keep and bear arms during the Revolutionary War.

“America would not exist without the heroism of the young adults who fought and died in our revolutionary army,” Judge Nelson wrote in the majority opinion. “Today we reaffirm that our Constitution still protects the right that enabled their sacrifice: the right of young adults to keep and bear arms.”

Judge Nelson compared this law to a statute requiring Californians under the age of 21 to acquire a hunting license before purchasing long guns.

Nelson wrote that the ban on young Californians purchasing rifles included no such exception like acquiring a hunting license so it was unconstitutional.

“The main difference between this ban and the long gun regulation is the exceptions. The long gun regulation has a readily available exception, at least on its face – young adults can get hunting licenses. The semiautomatic rifle ban has no such exception: the only young adults who can buy semiautomatic rifles are some law enforcement officers and active-duty military service members,” Judge Nelson added.

The only exceptions in the California ban for residents under the age of 21 was to join the police force or the military, which Judge Nelson ruled was absurd.

The state of California is unlikely to appeal this ruling to the Supreme Court as the six Republican nominees would likely use the case to further expand the Second Amendment.
